A FEAR over a member of the public’s welfare in a Woodley home caused a 15-hour standoff with police yesterday.

The exact nature of the incident still remains unclear which caused at least ‘six’ police cars, police dogs and an unmarked vehicle to rush to the scene in Kingfisher Drive at midday.

Witnesses reported officers guarding the semi-detached property while other officers were seen going in and out of the house during the situation.

A spokesman for the force confirmed this afternoon no arrests have been made and officers left the scene at around 3am this morning (January 7).
