IT IS official, Earley is now one of the best places to live in England a survey has revealed.

The town secured a spot of the coveted list, published by the Daily Mail, due to affordable living, short commutes to work and good schools.

Town Clerk, Philip Truppin, was thrilled with the result, he said: "I think as Earley is part of Wokingham Borough it was going to do well because people feel it 's a good place to live and education standards are good, just look at Maiden Erlegh School.

"I think people are pretty content and the average income tends to be quite high.”

He also praised the recreation facilities including Sol Joel park and the football teams for being the best in the league.

Earley came tenth in a list of the best places to live in the UK put together for the Daily Mail.

The top spot was claimed by Bebington in the Wirral. The breakdown looked at postcodes across the country with RG6 being ranked amongst the most desireable areas in England.

The Reverend Neil Warwick, a resident for eight years, added: “As a parent the schools are good. I like the mixture of culture within the community.

“Personally I like that you can be up to London in 40 minuets. It has good parks and facilities in walking distance.”

He added: “There's always change and the need for things to improve, even if they are good.”
