THE 1996 Earley Squadron of Thames Valley Wing is recruiting new cadets aged 13 to 17 year old.

To take place at 7.30pm on June 21 behind the St Peters' Church Hall on Church Road, the event will exhibit the great and good of Berkshire's young flyers.

The squadron provides a host of activities and opportunities for its members, including Duke of Edinburgh training, autumn and summer camps and seven different sports play to a national level.

W.O. Seb Millers, Commanding Officer of the Squadron, said: "We’re a busy squadron with a hugely successful record of achievement and currently have the 2016 Lord Lieutenant’s Cadet for Berkshire and were the 2015 winner of the Wing’s inter-squadron challenge day.

“We are looking for young people of all ages but particularly year 9 and 10 students to join our 42 strong cadet squadron.”

On show at the recruiting drive will be a leadership exercise, radio reports and map making of the surrounding area.

Membership costs £9.50 and sessions take placed on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7.30 to 9.30pm.
