RESIDENTS will gather at a sought-after war memorial to remember Woodley's for the first time on Tuesday.
The 12ft high memorial was officially unveiled by His Royal Highness the Duke of York in July after campaigners fundraised for more than two years to get it built.
The community is invited to attend a service from 10.45am, where wreaths will be laid, and a two-minute silence will be observed.
Colin Lott, chairman of the Woodley War Memorial Project said: "We are delighted to see the new Memorial, funded by the people of Woodley, providing a focal point for Remembrance on 11 November."
