SHOP workers lost their jobs this week at the struggling Crockhamwell Road branch of Clinton Cards in Woodley.
Administrators Zolfo Cooper announced this week that the branch - which has nine staff - was set to close, and it was already shut when the Chronicle visited this morning.
The store was one of 330 not to be included in the sale of 397 stores to US-based Lakeshore Lending Ltd earlier this month.
Clinton Cards Plc and its subsidiaries, including Birthdays Retail Ltd, went into administration last month but the company's Reading stores in Broad Street and The Oracle were included in the deal along with its Wokingham branch.
