FRIENDS and colleagues of motorbike crash victim Colin Gray have staged their own memorial to him.
The 33-year-old motorcycle instructor, from Lambourne Gardens, Earley, died after crashing into a tree in Fleet on July 10.
His former colleagues at Hein Gericke in Slough, where he worked as manager for around two years, paid tribute to their "bike-mad" friend.
Matt Cottrell, now IT support and travel manager at Airport Services in Colnbrook, said: "He was a very nice man, with a heart of gold. It was such a shock to learn of his passing, and it has hit many of his motorcycling friends hard. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family at this very sad time."
Rebeka Beer, 18, a sales assistant at Hein Gericke, said she met him when he was a manager there when she came in for work experience four years ago and had stayed friends with him, as had her father.
She said: "He was really fun to be around, he would joke about and just loved bikes. He wanted everyone to ride a bike, it was him who got me into them. He was always happy. I saw him recently, a couple of weekends ago, he had come in just to say hello.
"We're all so shocked. A group of us are going out just to remember him - it will be our own little memorial."
Hampshire Constabulary is still appealing for witnesses to the crash, which happened on the A323 between Fleet and Aldershot. Police said he was riding a black Honda 1000cc motorbike and was overtaking a Transit van when he lost control and crashed.
