Schoolgirl hurt in car crash

A 12-YEAR-OLD girl was knocked down by a car on her way to school this morning.

The girl, thought to be a Maiden Erlegh School pupil, was in collision with a Vaxhall Corsa in Beech Lane at 8.15am, in the dip of the road near its junction with Redhatch Drive.

An ambulance is still at the scene but police said she is not thought to have serious injuries.

The road has not been closed.
