A MAIDEN Erlegh pupil has taken up the hotseat as Wokingham's youth MP.
Mako Mbiba, 16, is the borough's member of the UK Youth Parliament (MYP) for the next year, and will represent the borough's young people at the parliament's regional meetings.
Mako, from Shinfield, will be supported by her deputy Beth Stockham from Reading, and the pair will make the views of young people known to politicians locally.
Mako said: "We're looking forward to the year ahead and hope to do our best to represent the young people of the Wokingham Borough. We intend to campaign on transport by continuing work on the reduction of bus fares. We will aim to bring the community together by having more events, working with charities and bringing unity among the young people."
