ANTI -SOCIAL behaviour is on the wane in Lower Earley after police launched a crack down on troublesome youths.

Officers have used a dispersal order to separate gangs of youngsters congregating in Maiden Place and Chilcome Way who were intimidating neighbours.

Their operation has seen the number of recorded incidents of disruptive behaviour plummet from 30 to nine in the last fortnight.

Wokingham Borough Council"s community safety operations manager Jenny Bennett said: 'The Council is continuing to support the police in tackling anti-social behaviour. Our joint effort is to identify those responsible and take action to prevent further incidents for the sake of residents and businesses in the area."
