Free drop-in sessions this week

THE Mayor of Reading will be attending one of The Chronicle"s free question and answer sessions this week.

Cllr Peter Beard is joining our team at Tilehurst Library on Friday for an informal public drop-in session offering anyone interested the chance to ask questions and find out more about the role of local newspapers.

Another session will be are taking place tomorrow (Thursday) at Caversham Library and on Friday there will be a session at Lower Earley Library in addition to the one at Tilehurst Library.

There will be the opportunity to suggest photos for our Retro page, see some of our historic archives, share your feedback and find out about a career in newspapers.

Visitors can also get information and advice on writing press releases and booking advertising.

The sessions are part of the Newspaper Society"s Local Newspaper Week this week, which aims to highlight the importance of local newspapers in scrutinising local government and providing a forum for the community.

Come and say hello at Caversham Library in Church Street from 11am-12pm on Thursday, May 14.

Another session will be at Lower Earley Library in Chalfont Close from 9.30-10.30am on Friday, May 15.

We will also be at Tilehurst Library in School Road from 12-1pm on Friday, May 15.
