A CHARITY providing disadvantaged and disabled children with the chance to take part in recreational activities has received a major funding boost.

Woodley-based Me2 Club is celebrating a £4,580 grant from the Big Lottery Fund, which will support their campaign for young people with additional needs.

The donation will be used for an external evaluation of the charities' work, as well as covering the cost of leaflets and promote their work throughout Wokingham Borough.

Bernadette Ferne, Me2 Club’s chair, said: “Like all small charities fundraising remains a priority, which is why we were so excited to hear that we had been awarded this grant.

“The consultant has drawn together the views of a wide cross-section of our families and supporters and the report has highlighted what works well together with recommendations for us to consider moving forward.”

“If you can help support Me2 Club, either with fundraising or by volunteering, please do get in touch.

“We would also love to hear from you if there is a child or young person in your family who would benefit from their help.”

Me2 works closely with mainstream activity leaders, helping them to make their activities more accessible and welcoming for children with additional needs.
