AN ELDERLY woman was distracted in a supermarket car park before she had her bank cards and money stolen.

The victim was approached by a man in the Asda car park on Rushey Way on Wednesday, March 15, at around midday.

He asked her for directions to Royal Berkshire Hospital, but after he left the woman realised her bank cards had disappeared.

A sum of money was later withdrawn from the BP garage on Wokingham Road, with various other unsuccessful attempts made that afternoon on Christchurch Road.

Officers would like to speak to the man shown in this CCTV image in connection with the incident.
