A YOUNG motorcyclist was airlifted to hospital with serious injuries after a crash on Friday night.

The 21-year-old from Reading was riding a black Yamaha along Wokingham Road in Earley towards Winnersh.

He was in a collision with a grey Vauxhall Adam at around 8.20pm on Friday, March 31.

He suffered multiple serious injuries to his neck, arm and leg. The air ambulance was called and he was flown to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford.

He remains in hospital but the injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

PC Gareth Miles, of the Joint Operations Unit for Roads Policing, said: “We are investigating the circumstances of this collision in which a man has sustained serious injuries.

"I would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision or who saw the vehicles travelling before the collision.

"If you have any information which could assist the investigation please contact police as soon as possible."

A 23-year-old from Reading has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and driving whilst unfit through drink or drugs. He has been bailed until May 20.
