THE ARTIST who painted the walls underneath Loddon Bridge admits he is never fully satisfied with his work, and that is what drives him on to doing it again.

The talented painter gave an exclusive interview to the Chronicle this week, and said his work in Woodley was inspired by his love for George Lucas's Star Wars films.

He felt the build up to the saga's seventh instalment was a perfect opportunity to go out and paint his first Star Wars piece, and what better place to do it than across the road from a cinema.

The 23-year-old, whose identity will remain anonymous, said: "I am a very big Star Wars fan and I have been since I was young, I have always wanted to paint something Star Wars themed and the opportunity arose."

The detailed paintings, showing an AT AT Walker and an Imperial Storm Trooper on a speeder bike, took the budding Banksy just five hours each to complete.

He did not use stencils for either piece, and says his art work is all drawn freehand with spray paint.

He continues: "I have been painting since about the age of 14, I am 23 now so not very long really.

"I try to keep to my own style and I paint murals for a living.

"I am never really satisfied or happy with what I do so that is what makes me carry on doing it. These two walls I am quite proud of especially given the time I managed to do them in.

"All my work is free hand and spray paint."

The tag line 'Samer' which can be seen on his work, has no relevance to anything, it is just something the painter/decorator has been writing since he was a young age, and it has now become part of his artwork.

Speaking about the stigma that graffiti is a form of vandalism, he says that you can never please everyone, but when he finds a blank wall he wants to make it a happier place.

"I always want to beautify the wall," he adds.

"I do not see it as vandalism at all.
