A WOMAN motorist was injured when she was pushed to the ground by a driver who had hit her car, police said today.

The woman was trying to swap insurance details with a man who had swerved into the woman's lane of traffic and struck her blue Audi A4, when he pushed her to the floor.

The 29-year-old suffered a sprained ankle in the attack as the man got back into his car and drove away.

A spokesman for Thame Valley Police said they were appealing for anyone who saw the cars collide or the altercation at around 7.20am this morning on the A33 near junciton 11 of the M4, near the Verison building.

The spokesman said: "The victim, a 29 year-old woman, was driving a Blue Audi A4, on the A33 towards Reading, and was in lane two approaching the roundabout, opposite the Verison building.

"A saloon-type vehicle travelling in lane one, then cut into lane two and collided with the victim’s car.

"When the victim attempted to exchange insurance details at the traffic lights, the driver of the saloon pushed the victim, causing her to fall to the ground, twisting her ankle."

Police Constable Matthew Cadmore said. “I would ask the man to think about his actions, which has left the victim shaken and injured with a badly swollen ankle, and come forward. I would also ask anyone else who has witnessed this assault to get in touch”.

The man is described as white, aged 40 to 50-years-old, with short ginger hair and a ginger beard.

He has freckles on his arms, and was wearing a black watch. The vehicle he was driving was a saloon type vehicle”
