HEAVY downpours caused flooding across the area today (Tuesday).
Homeowners in Three Mile Cross were stacking up sandbags to stop the water seeping into their houses, while homes and businesses near the Emm Brook prepared for the worst after the river burst its banks earlier today and the Environment Agency issued a Flood Warning.
Parts of Thatcham, including Bowling Green Road, were also flooded.
The River Thames, Kennet, Loddon and Pang were all put on Flood Watch by the Environment Agency, with warnings that low lying land and roads could be under water.
The warnings issued for the Thames between Days Lock, Little Wittenham and Whitchurch Lock, near Pangbourne including Shillingford, Benson, Wallingford, Goring and Streatley. The Kennet from Berwick Bassett to Reading, the Foudry Brook, the River Lambourn, the River Enborne and their tributaries. The Loddon, Emm Brook, the Whitewater, the Hart, the Blackwater and their tributaries. And the Pang from Hampstead Norreys to Pangbourne, plus the Sulham Brook and their tributaries.
