BRIGHT young minds were given the chance to show off their debating skills as they quizzed one another at an annual Question Time event.

Sixth Form students from Theale Green School welcomed an elite panel for a lively and thought-provoking discussion on Brexit.

Now in its eighth year, the event remains very popular with students who are particularly interested in pursing further studies in the world of business and politics.

Lisa Trood, who organised the event, said: "We all really enjoyed taking part in this event.

"Many of the panel really enjoyed the experience and will return to the school next year to continue the debate, as so many areas of Brexit could still be discussed."

The high profile panel, chaired by deputy head Simon Shelley, included Tilehurst councillor Ricky Duveen and George Dunn, a member of the Welsh Government and governor for Theale Green.

Anne Richards added: “Question Time gives us an excellent opportunity for our young people to put questions to experts and people in positions of influence about their concerns for their futures.”
