A TEDDY bears' picnic welcomed the community into a Newbury care home last week.
Winchcombe Place in Newbury threw open its doors for its annual open day on Care Home Open Day.
Cliff Hutchings, home manager, said: “We had a wonderful afternoon celebrating Care Home Open Day with the local community.
"The event was a brilliant opportunity to break down preconceptions about care home life and showcase the warm and welcoming care environment here at Winchcombe Place.
"Residents loved interacting with the children from Winchcombe School and taking part in the festivities, and everyone commented how much they enjoyed the celebration."
Guests were entertained by the Trinity School Band as well as enjoying a specially made lunch and see the care home's two resident giant 'polar' teddy bears.
