A YOUNG motorcyclist died after his bike crashed near Basingstoke yesterday.
The 21-year-old was riding along Penwood at around 7.30pm when he lost control of his bike.
The man, who lived in Thatcham, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Hampshire Police are appealing for witnesses who saw the rider on his Yamaha motorcycle or the crash to come forward as they investigate the death.
Sgt Jon Bates, from the joint roads policing unit, said: “We would like to speak to anyone who may have seen the collision or saw the motorcycle prior to the incident.”
A Hampshire police spokesman said: "Officers were called to a single vehicle collision in Foxs Lane, around 7.30pm last night, 24 May, involving a Yamaha motorcycle.
"The 21-year-old male motorcyclist from Thatcham was pronounced dead at the scene."
The man's next-of-kin have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.
