A TAXI driver followed a female passenger into her home before sexually assaulting her by putting his hand up her skirt on Sunday.

The victim, believed to be in her thirties, was returning to her Thatcham home in the early hours and entered her house to find money to pay the driver.

She was then startled when the perverted man followed her inside and put his hand up her skirt and into her underwear, before she screamed and the man fled the scene.

No description of the suspect is available, although the incident occurred on the outskirts of the town at around 2am, after other passengers had vacated the six-seated vehicle in the Broadway.

Specialist investigator, Tracy Cole, said: "We would urge anyone who was in a taxi matching this description in the early hours of Sunday morning to please come forward, as they may be able to help us to identify the taxi company.

"We would also like to speak to anyone who may have been standing outside of the Slug and Lettuce or Document House at around 2am on Sunday, who may also be able to help with the investigation.

"Any information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, may assist us in bringing this offender to justice.
