A SOUTH African system for restoring the body's natural balance has arrived in Woodley.

The first UK branch of Seven Point Five, named after the ideal PH value of the fluid around cells in the human body, has opened in Headley Road.

The practice diagnoses problems through analysing live blood samples and uses a range of minerals and nutrient supplements to help the body get back to optimum function and allow it to heal. James Hargraves opened up in Woodley at the beginning of this month, trained by his friend Garth Kent, who started the business in South Africa in 1997 following his own health problems.

He said: "The human body is just a phenomenal thing. Give it the right environment and it will heal itself. "The body is 70% liquid and 30% solid and all of the cells are surrounded by fluid. In a perfect body, the fluid inside the cells is about 6.8 and the fluid outside is 7.5. That encourages the cell doors to open and absorption can take place."

After filling in a questionnaire on health and lifestyle, James takes a small sample of blood from the fingertip which is analysed under a microscope. From what he sees, James devises a combination of mineral-based nutrients, including ionic coral calcium, shark liver oil and grapeseed to create remedies that allow healing. James said the effects would be visible in the blood within 20 minutes after taking the remedy.

He said: "I'm just trying to create a bit of awareness. "Most of my clients are referrals from people who we helped in South Africa. I've had people get in touch from just south of Loch Lomond, the Isle of Man, all over.
