Firefighters were called to three blazes around Cemetery Junction, East Reading, which were started within 40 minutes of each other.
In the first blaze a portable canteen was destroyed by flames at the corner of London Road and King's Road and was tackled by firefighters using breathing apparatus at around 4.30am.
Just 10 minutes later a mattress was set alight in the smoking area of the former Granby pub at Cemetery Junction.
Within 30 minutes fire crews were called out again to a fire in the front garden of a house in nearby Cholmeley Road.
A spokesman for Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service said building materials including plaster board which had been discarded in the front garden were set alight.
Police are investigating and anyone with information should call 101.
