POLICE are appealing for witnesses after an assault in Denmark Road, East Reading, last night.
Shortly after 3am this morning, an 18-year-old man, spoke to a man who was part of a group of approximately eight or nine men.
The man then punched the victim in the face before running away with approximately six of the men.
A second man from the group then punched the victim in the face before running away in the direction of Erleigh Road.
The victim fell to the ground where he hit his head. He sustained serious head injuries and was taken by ambulance to the Royal Berkshire Hospital where he remains in a stable condition.
All of the group are described as white, apart from two men who were Asian, and all were aged in their early twenties.
The first offender was taller than 5ft 10ins. The second offender was of large build, approximately 6ft tall and was wearing a red striped T-shirt.
