Father-of-two Aston Williams was killed in the collision with a marked police 4x4 responding to a 999 call about a burglary in Eastern Avenue at around 1.45am on Wednesday, August 6.
The 28-year-old, who lived with his girlfriend Shanice Medford, in Calcot, was pronounced dead at the scene and the family are now trying to raise money to cover his funeral costs.
The fundraiser will take place at the Reading Amateur Boxing and Fitness Club, in Chatham Street, from noon to 9pm tomorrow.
Miss Medford, 22, said the family do not yet know when the funeral will be able to take place because police are still investigating the circumstances of the collision.
It took place in the middle of Wokingham Road and also involved a police officer on foot, who was rushed to hospital with minor shoulder injuries and has since been discharged.
The collision is still the subject of an investigation by the Independent Police Complaints Commission.
