A SUPERMARKET is offering customers the chance to recycle Easter egg boxes.

Sainsbury’s Calcot, in Bath Road, is one of 50 supermarkets across the country to recycle plastic, card and foil packaging at its Easter egg recycling point until Wednesday.

Sainsbury’s will make a cash donation to environmental organisation the Forest Stewardship Council, based on the volume collected. Store manager Andrew Major said: “It’s important that we act as a responsible retailer by supporting our environment and making it easier for our customers to recycle packaging. They were really supportive of our Christmas card recycling service and we hope they make this a cracking success too.”

The Christmas card recycling helped Sainsbury’s stores nationwide donate £9,000 to the Forest Stewardship Council.
