FASHIONISTAS are putting the finishing touches to their Reading Arts Week Fashion Show.

The three designers, Lyndsey Clark, Louise Butland and Simone Watson, will showcase more than 30 unique outfits at two shows during the week-long festival for Reading-based artists.

Lyndsey, 24 from Emmer Green, who runs her own business, Lyndsey Clark Boutique, making corsets and wedding dresses, organised the fashion show at last year's Art Week. She said: "It was really good, I think a lot of people discovered my work.

"We have been trying to get on top of everything and have most of the models we need, so hopefully there won't be any last minute panic like last time."

The first fashion show begins at 12.30pm in Reading's Market Place on Tuesday, June 18, and the second from 6.45pm at Reading College on Friday, June 21.

Louise, 26, from Wokingham, has a business making vintage dresses called Contrariety Rose, which she sells through Creative Crafts and Workshops in the Harris Arcade in Reading. She said: "It is brilliant to be involved, I have started making new pieces for the show because it is a perfect opportunity to get them seen.

"I am really looking forward to it, although I have a lot of work to do so I am sewing 14 hours a day to get it all done."

The only men's fashion designer is 26-year-old Simone, from Calcot, who showcased her new line at London Fashion Week in February.

She said: "It is a great opportunity and I am really excited because it will be our second show this year."

The shows are part of Reading Arts Week, the only art festival exclusively for Reading-based creatives, organised by the borough council and Reading College and supported by The Chronicle.

It kicks off with the Art Village in Forbury Gardens during Reading Water Fest on Saturday, June 15, and finishes with an exhibition at the Reading College King's Road campus on June 22-23.
