FLOOD alerts are still in force across Berkshire as the county braces itself for another day of heavy downpours.
The Environment Agency is currently pumping water away from Wintringham Way in Purley, which was hit by floods last month.
Boat owners are being urged to check boats are moored securely and safely because water levels are continuing to rise.
'Flooding is expected' warnings are in place at the River Thames at Goring and Streatley, Purley Village, and Shiplake, Lower Shiplake and Wargrave, and the River Loddon at Twyford, Charvil and Wargrave.
Environment Agency flood and coastal risk manager, Peter Quarmby, said: "We are closely monitoring the situation across the South East as river levels continue to rise, particularly on the Thames. Our staff have been working throughout the Christmas holidays and will continue to do so around the clock over the next few days to monitor the situation.
"We are working to minimise any possible risk of flooding and warning residents to take action now and reduce the risks and impacts.
"Now is a good time for anyone who lives in an area vulnerable to flooding to think about the precautions they can take to protect their properties, and I would encourage everybody to keep up to date on warnings."
