Get set for traffic hold-ups

TRAVEL disruption is expected tomorrow when a six-week programme of roadworks gets under way. The £845,000 resurfacing scheme is being carried out by Reading Borough Council and includes road closures across the town.
Work will begin in Westwood Glen, Tilehurst, which will be closed tomorrow (Monday) and Tuesday from 8am-8pm.
On Tuesday and Wednesday, temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 9.30am-3.30pm in Bath Road, Southcote, between Southcote Lane and Parkside Road.
Temporary lights and road closures will also be used in Grovelands Road, west Reading, between Water Road and Brisbane Road, from 8am-8pm on Wednesday and Thursday.
Transport leader Cllr Tony Page said: "This is again a significant investment by the Council on better road surfaces for all road users. There will be some disruption while the work takes place and we hope residents will understand this is an inevitable consequence of improving road surfaces."

Tilehurst:
Westwood Glen - two days from Monday, July 23, 8am-8pm. Full closure with diversion.
Tilehurst Road (Honey End Lane to Pegs Green Close), three days from Monday, July 30, 8am-8pm. Full closure with diversion.
Norcot Road (Church End Lane to Pottery Road), two days from Monday, August 6, 9.30am-3.30pm. Temporary lights/road closure with diversion.
Southcote:
Bath Road (Southcote Lane to Parkside Road), two days from Tuesday, July 24, 9.30am-3.30pm. Temporary lights.
West Reading:
Grovelands Road (Water Road to Brisbane Road), two days from Wednesday, July 25, 8am-8pm. Temporary lights/road closure with diversion.
Southcote Road - three days from Tuesday, July 31, 8am-8pm. Full closure with diversion.
Southcote Road/Tilehurst Road junction - Wednesday, August 1, 9.30am-3.30pm. Temporary lights.
Liebenrood Road (Bath Road to Inglewood Court), Wednesday, August 8, 8am-8pm. Full closure with diversion.
Coley:
Berkeley Avenue (St Saviour's Road to Littlecote Drive), five days from Thursday, July 26, (excluding weekend), 8am-8pm. Full closure with diversion.
Coley Avenue (Bath Road to Upavon Drive), three days from Thursday, August 2, (excluding weekend), 8am-8pm. Full closure with diversion.
Bath Road (Benyon Court to Lima Court) two days from Thursday, August 9, from 8am-8pm. Temporary traffic lights.
Caversham:
Hemdean Road (Church Street to Rectory Road), Sunday, July 29, from 8am-8pm. Full closure with diversion.
Gosbrook Road (George Street to Briants Avenue), two days from Saturday, August 4, 8am-8pm. Full closure with diversion.
Henley Road (Grosvenor Road to Westfield Road), four days from Wednesday, August 15, 10am-8pm on the Wednesday, 8am-8pm on remaining three days. Full closure with diversion.
Oakley Road (Hemdean Road to Kidmore Road), two days from Monday, August 20, 8am-8pm. Full closure with diversion.
Kidmore Road/Tokers Green Lane/Shepherds Lane junction - two days from Tuesday, August 21, 8am-8pm. Full closure with diversion.
East Reading:
London Road (Cemetery Junction to Sutton Seeds roundabout(, five days from Saturday, August 11, 10am-8pm on the Saturday, 8am-8pm on remaining four days. Full closure with diversion.
Whitley:
Whitley Wood Road (Hartland Road to Staverton Road), two days from Tuesday, August 28, 8am-8pm. Full closure with diversion.
