McDermott: "It's my best moment in football"
ROYALS boss Brian McDermott has hailed Reading's promotion into the Premier League as his "best moment in football."
Royals fans erupted into roars of celebration last night after a late winning goal by Mikele Leigertwood secured Reading a 1-0 victory over Nottingham Forest, which sparked a party at Madejski Stadium when ecstatic fans invaded the pitch.
McDermott said: "I am delighted. It's my best moment in football, considering the worst moment was losing the play-off final.
"It doesn't seem real at the moment. It's a strange feeling. In fact, it feels like it is happening to someone else.
"But I've been very lucky with the players and staff I have, they have carried me along.
"It's all for the fans."
