A WOULD-BE burglar escaped the clutches of two have-a-go heroes when they stopped her getting into a garden in Tilehurst.

The two-passers-by caught the woman trying to get into a house in Norcot Road, after she clambered over a garage roof shortly before 3pm last Thursday, but she managed to get away from them before police arrived.

The woman, who caused damage to a garage roof, is described as having frizzy hair.
