Teenager dead after fatal crossroads crash

A TEENAGER has died after a two car smash at a crossroads last night.

An 18-year-old from Wokingham died at the Royal Berkshire Hospital just hours after his black Volkswagen Golf was in collision with a white Ford Transit at the junction of King Street Lane and Reading Road at the Winnersh Crossroads at 8.55pm.

A 19-year-old passenger also hurt in the crash is in a stable condition in the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford and two other passengers suffered minor injuries.

Three men have been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. A 24-year-old man from Hurst and a 23-year-old man from Bracknell have been bailed to return to Loddon Valley police station on May 1 and a 23-year-old man is being quizzed by officers.

Witnesses should contact police on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
