Reading Festival line-up revealed
THE Cure, Foo Fighters and Kasabian have been unveiled as this year's Reading Festival headliners.
More than 30 years after the release of their debut album - Three Imaginary Boys - iconic, blasts from the past The Cure top the Main Stage bill on the festival's opening day, Friday, August 24.
Leicester rockers Sergio Pizzorno, Tom Meighan, Chris Edwards and Ian Matthews - better known as Kasabian - have been booked for the top slot the following day.
Festival masters Foo Fighters - who recently scooped five Grammy awards - will bring the music extravaganza at Little John's Farm to a close on the Sunday when they play their only British gig this year.
The US group have become a firm Reading favourite since making their debut here in 1995, before ascending to the dizzy heights of headliners in 2002 and 2005.
Headline acts for the NME/Radio 1 Stage are The Maccabees, At The Drive-In and Justice, with Metronomy among the Dance Stage's main attractions.
Others groups joining the stellar line-up include Paramore, Florence And The Machine, Kasier Chiefs, Bullet For My Valentine and Angles and Airwaves, The Shins, Mystery Jets, Bombay Bicycle Club, Eagles Of Death Metal and The Courteeners.
Tickets go on general sale tomorrow and cost £197.50 for the weekend and £85 for a day. For details see www.readingfestival.com
