Thieves snatch tree surgeon's tools
THIEVES plundered two chain saws and a leaf blower when they raided a tree surgeon's van.
A man in his early 20s staged the attack at 2.40pm on Thursday, February 9, smashing the window of a white Ford Tipper van parked in a lay-by in London Road, Thatcham, close to Pipers Lane.
He loaded the Stihl leaf blower (model BR600) and petrol chain saw (model MS200T) and another Husqvarna chain saw into a waiting black Peugeot - possibly a 407 - before driving off towards Newbury.
The stolen items are all orange coloured and PC Kirsten Goodfield said: "I would ask anyone who saw these vehicles in the area, or have been offered chain saws or a leaf blower fitting the description to contact police. If you know someone who has suspiciously acquired similar items please contact us."
