Police hunt gunman after couple are robbed

A TERRIFIED couple were robbed at gunpoint in Reading when vicious thugs struck as they walked home in the early hours.

The victims, a man and a woman in their twenties, were walking along Katesgrove Lane between 2.20-2.35am yesterday when they were stopped by two men. One was brandishing what appeared to be a handgun and shouted at them to hand over their belongings, The robbers fled with their wallets and mobile phones.

Detective Sergeant Jo Wappner said: "We are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident itself, saw any suspicious behaviour in the area, or has any other information which could assist us with our investigation."

The gunman is white, 5ft 8ins tall and medium build, in his twenties or thirties, and wore distinctine dark coloured baggy sweatpants.
