TEACHERS and pupils at a Wokingham secondary school are in shock after being told their assistant head has killed himself.

In a statement - which appeared on the Forest School's website today - headteacher Keith Quine, said police informed him that Joe Holyer drove to Dover, where his family live, and killed himself in the early hours yesterday.

He added: "His sister has gone to great lengths to stress that there was no aspect of his life at The Forest that contributed to this tragedy - indeed he appears to have made this particularly clear in a message he left.

"Joe was immensely popular with students and colleagues alike and I am sure you will provide your son with wise counsel and support at this difficult time.

Mr Quine said counselling will be avaliable to pupils today and next week.

He also advised parents to contact ARC counselling on 0118 977 6710 or Coordinator@arcweb.org.uk, should their child need further support.

Tributes to Joe Holyer can be left below or email news@bracknellnews.co.uk
