A 61-YEAR-OLD road rage victim was left with a black eye, cut cheeks and a swollen nose when he was viciously attacked by another driver while sitting in his car in a Pangbourne supermarket car park.

Police believe the victim's grey BMW had been involved in an incident with a van minutes earlier on a nearby mini-roundabout.

The victim was in his car behind the Co-op in High Street, Pangbourne, at 4.50pm on Wednesday last week when a man approached and repeatedly punched him in the face.

The attacker, who only gave up when the victim punched him back and managed to knock off his glasses, fled in a dark Vauxhall Astra van.

Witnesses who saw either incident or know the identity of the attacker should contact PC Jen Banfield on 101, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
