Drivers hurt in nine vehicle pile-up

TWO motorists were taken to hospital after a nine vehicle pile-up in icy consitions on the A329(M) early today

Three vans, a Landrover 4x4 and five cars were in collision on the southbound carriageway between Winnersh Triangle and M4 junction 10 shortly before 6am.

The casualties - who were suffering minor injuries - were taken to the Royal Berkshire Hospital. Paramedics also treated three other people at the scene.

Police kept the road closed for more than an hour while the wreckage and damaged vehicles were removed.
