FIREFIGHTERS rescued a care worker after she got stuck in a lift today (Sunday).

The crew from Whitley Wood station opened the door of the lift with a specialist key in The Willows care home in Hexham Road, Whitley at 4.10pm.

The woman walked out of the lift after being stuck for 10 minutes.
