Tune in or get tuned out
THERE is less than a month to go until the television digital switch-over begins in Berkshire.
Each household should be aware of two dates, which vary depending on which transmitter their television signal comes from.
On the first date the analogue BBC Two will be switched off and the higher powered BBC digital services launched.
All Freeview televisions and boxes will need to be re-tuned on or after this dates.
On the second date, the remaining analogue channels will be switched off and the rest of the digital services launched, and all Freeview televisions and boxes will need to be re-tuned again.
Those with Sky TV, Virgin Media or freesat do not have to do anything, while those who have not converted and still have analogue televisions, will lose all their channels.
For those receiving a signal from the Hannington transmitter (Meridian) the dates are February 8 and 22, and from the Crystal Palace transmitter (London) they are April 4 and 18. The switch-over for the Oxford transmitter (Central) took place in September.
