FIREFIGHTERS rushed to a microwave blaze last night (Friday).

A crew from Dee Road fire station was called to a flat in Sheppard Court in Chieveley Close, Tilehurst, at 7.30pm after food had cooked in the appliance for too long.

The 75-year-old female resident was unharmed and the damage was contained to the microwave.
