UPDATE: OXFORD ROAD IS NOW OPEN.
POLICE closed a section of Oxford Road in west Reading this afternoon (Sunday) after a car crash.
Officers sealed off the road in both directions between the junction of Constitution Road and Tidmarsh Street after a red Peugeot 307 was in collision with a blue Vauxhall Zafira shortly before 1.30pm.
A 60-year-old man, believed to be a passenger in the Peugeot, has been taken to the Royal Berkshire Hospital with suspected chest injuries.
Motorists were caught in lengthy queues in both directions.
Witnesses should contact PC Sally Barden on the new police non-emergency number on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
