FRIENDS and families are in for a scream this weekend when halloween creeps back into Reading.
Ghouls, ghosts and vampires will take over the town to celebrate things that go bump in the night, when spooky stalls and gripping games invade Purley on Sunday.
The fancy dress halloween party, which will raise money for Reading's Duchess of Kent House Hospice, is from 5-7pm at The Barn in Goosecroft Recreation Ground, off Beech Road, and there will be hot food and refreshments.
Sue Day, the hospice charity's community fundraiser, said: "This event will especially appeal to those with young families who want to do something truly spooky. Last year we had an overwhelming response from local families who really appreciated an alternative to trawling the streets with their children!"
Tickets are £4 for adults and £2 for children aged under 16. Call 0118 939 4889 or email spooktacular@dokhc.org.uk
