A LAW student is "devastated" after heartless thieves made off with her car.

The distinctive Mini Mayfair, which belongs to 21-year-old Harriet Edwards, went missing from outside her Allcroft Road, Reading, home on Monday last week, and she is desperate to get it back.

Miss Edwards, a first year student at Reading University, said: "I still have the keys so I think it may have been towed away. It is a C-reg from 1986 and I'm absolutely devastated. It belonged to my granny, then it went to my sister and I learned to drive in it. So it is part of the family and I just want it back."

The blue car is an automatic and has alloy wheels. It has built-in Sony speakers and the hi-fi system plays both MiniDiscs and CDs.

It also has a wire at the front where an iPod can be plugged in.

Anyone with information should contact the police on 0845 8 505 505 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
