WORK to replace a notorious sewage pipe in Mortimer will begin on Monday.

Thames Water hopes the seven week scheme will reduce the risk of flooding by replacing a 300 metre stretch of the pipe in Tun Bridge, which has burst four times in five years.

The water company will use "no dig" technology to prevent widespread traffic misery while they work between Tun Bridge Pumping Station and Lindens in The Street. But villagers can find out more about the work at a drop-in session at St Marys C of E Junior School in The Street on Monday [31], from 4-6pm.
