Pizza man in knife attack horror
POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a pizza delivery man had his hand slashed with a kitchen knife and the keys to his car and house stolen.
The 22-year-old driver, working for Milano Pizza, was parked in Newcastle Road on Friday, October 7 at 7.45pm, and was checking a delivery address when a muscular Asian man with a thin moustache knocked on his car window.
When he opened the window the hooded offender punched him in the chest and then dragged him out by his t-shirt, before demanding he hand over the money and the pizza delivery.When he refused he was stabbed in the hand with a kitchen knife but managed to push his attacker away and run off.
He was chased by the offender and three other men but escaped by taking refuge in an off licence in Northumberland Avenue. When he returned to his car, both his ignition and house keys had gone.
The victim went to Royal Berkshire Hospital and had the wound on his hand stitched up.
The knifeman is aged between 20 and 25, 5ft 10ins tall and has black hair, which is closely shaven at the sides but longer on the top. He wore a black hooded top, grey jogging bottoms and black gloves. The knife he was carrying had a black handle and a thin blade.
