A SEA of blue will travel to Wembley on Bank Holiday Monday as fans make the 31 mile journey from Reading to the national stadium to see the Royals take on Swansea City.
Thousands will be taking to the roads, trains and coaches as they aim to get to Wembley Stadium for when the gates open at 1pm, two hours before kick off.
There will also be a total of 44 coaches running to the play-off final on the day. Supporters Trust at Reading (STAR) will be running coaches from the Madejski Stadium at 11am and one coach (Coach 10) will depart from Station Hill at 10.45am. Tickets cost £12 and must be booked in advance. Seats will only go to members of STAR. Membership for the season costs £10 or £5 for under 18s and over 65s. Visit www.star-reading.org
Trains from Reading Station will be running every five to 10 minutes to London Paddington, where football fans can change to the Bakerloo Line tube to Wembley Central and then make the 15 minute walk to the stadium. Passengers are advised to check the Network Rail website in advance to plan their journey and check for any disruptions. Coach tickets with Horseman Travel cost £20 per person, with a scheduled departure of 11am from the Madejski. Bookings can be made by phone on 0118 975 3811 and a £1 handling fee applies on card transactions.
The journey will take just under an hour up the M4 by car, depending on traffic. But there is little parking available at the stadium and those wishing to do so must book a space in advance. Visit www.csparking.com or call 020 8795 1758 for more information.
