FORMER Reading FC academy players were among six people jailed today after a midnight orgy in a park with two 12-year-old girls.
Ex-academy footballers, Jahson Downes and Ashley Charles, both 20, Reading Town player, Luke Farrugia, 21, Courtney Amos, 19, Dennis De Sousa, 18, and Jahvon Edwards, 19, all admitted rape of a girl under the age of 13.
One of the girls was raped by five men, the other raped by one on the night of Saturday, February 21 last year, at a recreation ground in Reading's George Street. All six handed themselves in and made full confessions.
At Reading Crown Court, Judge Stephen John sentenced Amos, of Nire Road, Caversham, Charles, of Laud Close, Coley, De Sousa, of Deveron Drive, Tilehurst, Edwards, of Pangbourne Street, West Reading, and Downes, of Pell Street, Reading, to two years in a Young Offenders' Institute. Farrugia, of Barnwood Close, West Reading, was sent to prison for two years
