A MAN has died after a major car pile-up on the M4 near Slough yesterday.

A multi-car accident took place on the westbound carriageway between junction 7 and junction 8/9 after a red Ford Fiesta collided with the central reservation while being chased by police.

The Ford Fiesta was then hit by another car being driven by a member of the public on the eastbound carriageway.

The 32-year-old driver was taken to Wexham Park Hospital by air ambulance but died as a result of his injuries.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident and The Independent Police Complaints Commission has been notified.

Anyone with information should call 08458 505 505 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
