Police hunt 'good samaritan' after bus stop attack
POLICE want to trace a 'good samaritan' who stepped in to help a 31-year-old man attacked at a bustop.
The victim from west Reading was punched in the head at the corner of Castle Street and Coley Place at 6.30pm on Friday when a skinny Asian or mixed race man's approached him and challenged him to a fight.
His attacker only backed off when a member of the public intervened.
PC Mark Wilson said: "This was an unprovoked attack on an innocent member of the public. Fortunately, the victim only suffered very minor injuries but it happened at a busy time and I am keen to speak to anyone who may have any information that could help us."
The attacker was in his mid twenties and 5ft 4ins tall, with long black greasy 'curtains style' hair down to his chin. He wore a light coloured shirt, a thin black padded jacket, black trousers, a black Nike drawstring bag and an ID badge around his neck.
