A MAN had a lucky escape today after spinning off the track at Aldermaston Race Course.

Fire crews from Dee Road fire station joined colleagues from Tadley at the scene, in Paices Hill at 2.50pm to find the banger racing driver trapped in his car.

The man's car was the only one involved in the incident and firefighters freed him by cutting off the roof.

Watch manager Jock Wenn said: "We actually lifted him out in his driving seat because there were concerns that he had suffered serious back injuries."

The man was taken to hospital to be treated for his injuries.
